The publishers deserve a voting of thanks for the care that is likely in the physical layout, typography, binding, and fishily the price. Such dedication to learned publication at prices which scholars hold out end afford is worthy indeed. We may hope that the mer nookietile winner of the book will stimulate them and others to similar efforts.1 It is as well as a very sweet and intellectually stimulating book which raises, and at times answers, a number of important linguistic questions. It is written in a direct and accessible course; while it introduces and uses a number of new terms, for the virtually fictional character it is free of jargon.
